Are You Growing?

Friend, are you growing in the faith, (spiritually) or are you looking to be agreed with; that all you do and say and think is just fine?

Today the world tells us that we are all individually good, and there is no need to conform to anything the Bible may say.

This is a dangerous teaching straight from the pit of hell.

We'd love to believe it of course because then we could commit all kinds of sin in the name of individuality. We could say we are 'right" in all we do.

So many turn their back on the true Teaching of God, and follow after their own lusts disguised as "just being myself."

When we understand Who God Is, we cannot fairly say that He is okay with us committing sin.

The Bible speaks of instances when sin is forgiven, but it never says we should continue on in sin after we receive forgiveness.

John the Baptist spoke for God when he said, "Repent and be baptized."

God knows our circumstances and will continually forgive us, as we strive towards living a sin free life. But to stay bogged down in any particular sin and refuse to move away from it when the Holy Spirit is convicting us of it, heaps even more sin on us.

The Bible tells us that every sin is against Him.

When we take a thorough look at that statement, we do find that it is Truth.

How then do we grow?

Repent first. Admit to God what your sin is and ask for forgiveness and for help.

He will help you to overcome the sin and strengthen you in your faith when you yield to His Kingship.

Get to know the One Who died for you to receive Forgiveness, by reading the New Testament.

In the first four books Matthew, Mark, Luke and John you will find out much about His Character and Who God the Father is, and what is required of us the sinners who will be saved by His Grace and Mercy, as well.

These four simple fishermen, knew Him personally. Walked and talked and supped with Him. Their view is not one of highminded eletist thinking.

He revealed His Godhood to them by chatting around the fire for supper, in walking and talking to the people they came across, in speaking to them in parables that they could understand the underlying Truth they contained, and in so doing, today we can come to know Him, and grow in faith; through their writings.

Yes it is important that we repent daily, overcome and grow in knowledge so that we will not be destroyed in the next storm looming on the horizon, but stand strong in Truth and Power from on High, knowing we are Loved fully and wholly by Almighty God.
