Be An Overcomer

01/08/2017 10:15

Friend, the Lord asks each human to be an overcomer.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1 John 5;5

We inherently understand the need to overcome things in our lives.

Daily we try our best in the little overcomings we need to survive this world.

Yes, since recorded times, we read that man has sought to overcome in many ways.

We have devised many (false) religions and laws, to get others to overcome.

Many come across these religions in other ways and begin their practises even today without searching them for Truth, but hoping to overcome a sorrow or pain or regret.

If it only matches up with our thinking, wouldn't it be flawed?

The Bible is filled with such Pure Truth, that one cannot imagine a man saying some of the truths contained therein. Many have examined it only to find it changes their perspective, their inner truth and their lives.

We inwardly know this and spend a lifetime running from it, fearing running to it for the unknown of it, fearing the wrath of God for our sinful ways.

Yes, we want to keep our sinful ways whilst having the best of everything from God as well.

But, the Bible reveals to us that we are incapable of overcoming to the degree of attaining holiness in one lifetime.

It also reveals that we are more than overcomers in Christ Jesus..(And this can be done in this lifetime.)

This is Good News, friend!

Being an overcomer as a child of God, is a constant journey of letting go and letting God be in charge.

We start with the small things.

Usually a person who professes belief in Jesus will be convicted of the greatness of their sinful lifestyle.

If their conversion was legitimate, they will have a desire to not use filthy language anymore, knowing that their Friend is listening, not wanting to subject His Ears to profanity and especially not using His Name in vain.

They will find certain things they look at, to be offensive to the Spirit within.

Their focus in life changes.

They may have to stay in a certain employment, but their outlook on life is different.

They see the world and all of Creation in a different way; through the eyes of Jesus.

They know and understand much more about the purpose of life.

Growing and maturing in the Faith brings much inner satisfaction and peace.

There's a settling aspect; knowing He is for us, working all things together for Good for us.

Seeing His Hand at work brings us much inner joy.

Realizing the Perfection of the Work He does is absolutely amazing.

For years we may have wondered about a certain issue and suddenly we realize it has been revealed to us as if scales have been lifted off our eyes and a blossoming of our thoughts has finally happened.

Yes, friend, Jesus died for your sins so you may become an overcomer.

It's a Great Gift.

But thanks be to God, Which giveth the Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (overcoming) 1 Corinthians 1:57
