Beware the Deceit of Riches

When the deceitfulness of riches works its way there is no longer any walking humbly with God, nor simple dependence upon him.

There is little or no prizing of Grace, and seeking after it as for hid Treasure; for are not the barns full, and is not that enough? (our own riches)

And now the spiritual worship of God becomes too plain and commonplace, and something more pleasing to the eye, and to the flesh, must be sought after.  Charles Haddon Spurgeon (sermon quote)

Friend, most of mankind is striving to have wealth - wouldn't you agree?

Our daily lives, working for the boss or seeking to be our own boss, revolves around hoping for a great windfall of cash, money, reward.

We are constantly climbing up the ladder of success, hustling to get more, and trampling on others to get their share of the goodies for ourselves!

We are so wicked!

God sees it all, and an account of our time and treasures; what we did with our God-given gifts and tangible assets on earth, is written in Heaven for the Great Day of Judgement.

It will be proved to us that we were seekers of fortune and not seekers of God.

We will not be able to deny it. Our mouths will not be able to speak for only Truth is allowed in Heaven.

All of Heaven will be watching.

Our accuser, the great being, satan, will prosecute us, hoping for God to give him our soul.

Every transgression of the Law of God will be thrown into the ring, broadcast all over Heaven, in order to prove how much we belong to him. He will not be lying. He will speak of every wilful action, every lie, every plotted deceit, every sin no matter how small.

He/satan will prove that we are his, if we do not have our High Priced (His Sacrificial Death for us) Defender, Jesus Who we chose while on earth, to be our Saviour, stepping forward to say something like the following, "Father, this one is mine. He/she has proven faithful. He/she has repented and remained My follower. He/she did not continually and habitually continue to sin but has faithfully followed the Spirit and has accepted My Blood, to be cleansed of all unrighteousness."

God is happy for us to have wealth but we must be careful stewards of it and we must be born again, of the Spirit in order for the Father to accept us.

Without being born again into the Family of God, we can never stay in Heaven; no matter how much money, and material things we accumulated whilst here on earth.

Worldly success is not a measuring tool at all, for God.

God looks on the heart.

Has it humbled itself before God; knowing that all help, success, provision, healing, knowledge, love, compassion, kindness, come from God first.

Realising where our successes originated from, and thanking the Source of all Kindness and Love is the beginning of Wisdom.

Friend, we must be washed in the Blood of Christ to avoid this humiliation, and banishment from the Presence of God.

Is this someting you wish to have now?

It's very simple.

If your heart is desiring to know God; if your mind is ready to accept Him as a Forgiver of your sins and a Saviour of your soul; He is listening.

Repeat these words out loud to Him wherever you are however you are; whatever your low state. You do not need to be cleaned up or to have paid for your transgressions before asking Him for Forgiveness.

"Lord Jesus, I believe that you are God. I believe that you died as a punishment for my sins and they are now paid for and I have Holy Forgiveness from God. I ask you to teach and guide me all the days of my life and bring me from this wretch that I am into a loving relationship with You. Thank You, Jesus. Amen."

Or speak your own heartfelt words.

Continue to seek Him and search for His Truth in The Holy Bible as a babe, open-minded and believing.

God bless all His people.
