Colossians 3:1-2, 5

The Apostle Paul wrote these words to believers at Colose.

He tells them he hopes they walk worthy of the Lord and please Him in all their comings, goings and doings, increasing in good works as all Chrstians should.

He asks them to be longsuffering, and be strengthened in patience, also giving thanks to God because they have become partakers with the saints in Heaven and will receive everlasting Life with them.

He reminds them that Jesus is the One in whom they have Redemption, through His Blood shed at Calvary; Who created all things including themselves; He is the Head of the Church of believers.

He warns them "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." Ch. 2:8

He is their earthly pastor.

And he is ours too.

Colossians 3:1,2, & 5

Verse 1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Verse 2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Verse 5 mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness,         inordinate affection, evil concupisence, and covetousness, which is idolatry.

These are words of advice, of love and care for our human condition for us today as well, friend.

Colossians is a wondeful Book of the New Testament for anyone to read through.

It's a letter born of the Spirit of God into the Apostle Paul who had it delivered to the believers he knew, residing in Colose.

It's our letter too.
