First Public Miracle/Jesus

Friend, are you aware of the first public miracle ever performed by Jesus?

It was at a wedding; to which He obviously had been invited.

He was around 30 years old at this time.

His Mother, Mary was in attendance and may have had some hand in helping with the food and beverage preparation.

Mary realized after some time that the wine was not going to last.

There was not enough for everyone who had come.

In those days people travelled far, and many times the host was not sure if all the people he had invited would appear, but always had to make sure enough victuals were supplied for everyone invited.

Mary, Jesus's Mother knew exactly Who to speak to about the lack of wine.

This is the Child Who she had raised from an infant; the Child she had nurtured and cared for; the Child whose touch cured an animal; the Child Whose Presence meant the family never lacked; the Child whose chores and duties were carried out to Perfection.

He was always God and man.

Mary knew, as Mothers do the abilities of her son; but she loved her God and only followed His Will. She had not been told to speak of these things.

She approached Jesus and told Him of the nearly empty wine barrels.

Jesus rebuked her at first.

He told her His time had not come. (Public miracles)

Mary was adamant; saying the host would be shamed with the implication that she too would be shamed.

Mary gathered the servants and told them to do whatever Jesus instructed them.

Jesus then asked, for the stone ceremonial vessels of water, that were used to get water from for washing of hands and feet  and which were almost empty, to be filled with clean water.

When this task was completed, He told the servants to dip the serving ladles in, and take the first cup to the master of ceremonies for his approval before it be served to the guests.

When the master of ceremonies tasted it, knowing the barrels were almost empty and having tasted it before was first served, he exclaimed, "This is extremely good wine! You have served the best last! Usually it is served first!"

The Disciples who were there with Him, were amazed and believed in Him as Messiah all the more.

Water was turned into magnificent wine!

A miracle before their eyes!

This Miracle at Cana was His first "Public Demonstration" of Heavenly Power.

Water to Wine.

Our Lord cared about the common folk having a nice time celebrating a wedding!

And He cared about His mother. He answered her request of Him because she believed in Him.

Friend, He will answer yours!
