Meditation

Scripture

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth He any man.

James 1:13 KJV

When we openly and truthfully look at what tempts us, we see that we are enticed by our own lusts.  A harsh judgment of our own state when tempted will always reveal this fact.

We may blame others on the surface but that too is a sin.  Others may place something within eye or earshot but we make the choice to partake or not.

God is speaking plainly to us here to show that this is how He sees it from His perspective and that is the perspective we will be judged by.

We are given time here on this earth to get rid of deeply embedded sinful thoughts, and actions.  He wants the best for us and to continue to allow us to sin after sending His Son in whom He is well pleased to suffer for us, would not be Holy.

God could have waved a magic wand over the earth and cleansed it.  We must ask ourselves, "Why did His Son have to suffer and die?"  It is a serious and loving thing He did for us.

Prayer

Lord, forgive me for the times when I have blamed You for temptation.  Now I understand that You do not tempt any man.  Help me to resist temptation and be an overcomer.  In Jesus's Name. Amen.
