Meditation  Verse

Scripture.  Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.  2 Corinthians 7:1  KJV

Paul advises us once again that we have many promises from our Lord; not the least of those, is the promise of eternal life through Christ.

The Spirit places a love for Christ in us that just wants to get rid of all the darkness in our lives.

If you have this desire then you truly are saved and born again!

We suddenly see that things we said or did, or watched or read are repulsive.

We see the unholiness of it all, and we are torn between justifying that it is okay to partake on a light level, and wanting to get it out of our lives.

Paul through the Holy Spirit is saying to us to cleanse "all" filthiness of the flesh and spirit from our lives.  In doing so, we begin to become perfected in Christ.

This is what the Father wants from us, active participation in the life of Christ.

His death and resurrection brought in new promises for those who would believe, even being non-Jew.

Meditate on how the non-Jew has benefited through the birth, death and resurrection of the Son of God.

It is the New Way. God made another Way for the non-Jew!

Before Christ's death and resurrection, the non-Jew's only hope, was to convert to the Jewish faith and adhere to the Law.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for Your holiness, and the New Law for all non-Jews to partake in the Joys of Your Kingdom. Holy Spirit, help me to turn from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. Fill me with the desire to please my Father and follow the teachings of Jesus through the guidance of the Holy Spirit and the reading of God's Holy Word.  Amen.
