The Evening Call

 The Evening Call

I come in the evening.

The cacophony of day is gone

flown away to nest with

the creatures of the sun.

I search your heart

I see your need of Me

I stand and softly knock

I do not wish to alarm you.

It is not Me who has hurt you

I cry.

Look at the Cross,

evil hurt Me too.

Open one window of your heart

just a crack

listen for My knock.

Allow me to enter,

and I shall abide with you

in this evening time.

I shall bring you peace,

and joy unspeakable,

in the evening of your life.

I know you.

Do you know Me?
