Meditation

Scripture.  Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God; and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.  2 Corinthians 10:5  KJV

Paul is warning the Corinthians to cast down their own imaginings about how things work, about who God is, how things should be done, and old teachings, to quickly take hold of any thought and try it against the teachings of Jesus and then obey according to the Holy scriptures.

Jesus came to fulfill every Law prophesy of God.  In doing so, all things should be measured  according to His Word with Him as the high King of our life.

If we leave out obedience to Him, we will attempt to find ways of interpreting the Bible to match up with our own vain imaginations.

Paul tells us to submit in humbleness to Christ, bring all of our own thoughts into captivity and weigh them against what the Spirit tells us through the reading of God's Word.  Then we should obey that answer even if it hurts us in some way.

God's Way is best for our spiritual growth.  I'm not saying it's easy or that we ever get perfected in this life by ourselves but to step out and begin this walk of obedience is required.

Jesus has His hand outstretched.  He will walk with You.

Prayer

Lord, thank You, I want to take Your hand.  Help me to not let go, I want to be obedient. Amen.
