Charles Spurgeon on Forgiveness

12/29/2015 11:14

Friend, a believer is required to forgive and forgive often and always.

The following prayer written by Charles Spurgeon the eloquent English pastor of the 1800's is a wonderful example of how to pray and what to say in prayer to God. Use it often making sure that your request is one that would bring glory and honour to Jesus the Son.

"Lord, thou knowest the straits I am in; thou knowest how undeserving I am; thou knowest what a poor, undone creature I am before thee; but if thy dear Son shall help and save me the very angels will stand and wonder at His mighty grace, and so it will bring glory to Him, therefore I entreat thee be gracious unto me."

Spurgeon goes on...

Be sure thou art certain to prevail if thou canst plead that it will glorify Christ, and surely thou wouldest not wish to have a thing that would not glorify him. Thy prayer shall always be prevalent, if thy heart be in such a state that thou art willing to have or not to have, according as it will honour thy Lord: if it will not glorify Christ, be thou more than content to do without the choicest earthly good; but be thou doubly grateful when the boon that is granted tends to bring honour to the ever dear and worshipful name of Jesus.

"For Christ's sake." It is a precious word; dwell upon it, and lay up this sentence in the archives of thy memory-the Father will do anything for the sake of Jesus Christ His Son.

Tender Heart

12/28/2015 12:01

Friend, the Lord requires we have a tender heart.

The hard-heartedness within us is a barrier that the Lord asks us to breakdown.

The damage we have done to our hearts must be undone.

Where we have built walls and fortresses to keep us from being hurt, we must begin to trust our Saviour to work with us and to lead the Way out of the maze of bad memories and depression, and untruths that we have allowed to become part of our soul's baggage.

These things have made us emotionally and physically sick.

The Lord is asking us everyday for access to these areas within us so He can calm us, apply the healing balm and renew our minds and hearts.

Sinfulness hardens our hearts also and we are wise to begin to recognize when the Holy Spirit convicts us that something we are contemplating doing, is sinful.

We love to harden our lovely soul and spirit with the hard shell of sin. Layers and layers we allow as we go deeper into the madness of the sins we engage in.

We are wise to remember He is with us and will walk us through the pain of cutting off the sin and hacking away at the hard shell to expose our spirit to the fresh rain of our Lord's Love for us.

Make it a plan to be open to His Lead and follow Him like a child - open to the new experience of higher spirituality.

This will expose a tender heart. One the Lord will be pleased to have a relationship with.

Solid Rock Foundation

12/26/2015 08:16

Matthew  7:24  Therefore whoever heareth these sayings of Mine, and doeth them, I will liken him to a wise man, which built his house upon a rock.

Friend, we all need a Solid Foundation. Otherwise the ways of the world will knock us around, storms will overtake us and lightning will destroy us.

This life brings afflictions and strife of all kinds. Just when we think things could get no worse, along comes something to show us that evil is even more horrible than we imagined.

But God's Word to us is that we should be wise and build our "house" on the Solid Foundation of faith in His Son, Jesus.

There must be a reason for God to give us this information. He is not superflous in His Words to us. He is always succinct.

He says, listen to Him and gather the knowledge of what He has written by the Holy Spirit revealing to certain men whom God deemed fit to carry His Word in their hearts and follow His Lead by leaving them for future generations.

Jesus is the Solid Rock. Belief in Him and His Diety is the beginning of Knowledge and Wisdom.

When trials and sufferings come, we turn to Him in whom we have built up a great faith; in His Ability to help, and we speak the Word of God to Him, with great inner strength that knows that He will do what He has said He will do for us, in His Word.

So, it is important to know the Bible. It is a Book worth spending time reading with a heart that seeks to know Wisdom and Knowledge.

In Him we have Hope for our troubles to be given to Jesus, to be untangled and sorted. We just need the belief that He brings all things together for good for us; in His timing and for His great pleasure.

Stand on the Solid Rock Foundation and never let the winds and stormy seas move you from your belief that He will finish the good work that He has begun in you. Be the willing soul. Do not be afraid of what man can do to you, but of what a Holy and All Powerful God must do to an unbelieving soul when it stands beefore Him at the Judgement, having been against Almighty God, it's whole life.

Now is the acceptable time for you to stand on the Solid Rock Foundation and begin to read His Word.

Worthiness & Grace

12/24/2015 14:37

Friend, let's face it, we are unworthy to know Almighty God, let alone receive anything good from Him.

But this is the Way of the Lord. He knows our unworthiness and when we admit we are unworthy, He clothes us in his Righteousness so He can have a relationship with us.

This is known as the Grace of God.

He is full of compassion for us. He has seen the roads of darkness we have gone down. He is aware of what has caused us to be the sinners we are.

But, when we look up and out of ourselves we give ourselves a chance to know the Light of the world, where before we have only seen darkness; we moved and had a life within that dark world.

Without the Mercy and Grace of God, this world would have destroyed itself long ago.

Jesus stepped up to the line that God drew when He said, "Enough! Evil's time has come."  He came to make a Way out of the darkness for those of us who desire it, who are tired of the unbearableness of being sinful.

Friend, we do struggle, but He is with us. Acknowledge Him and lean on Him and love Him.

Die daily to the old life and be filled with Hope, Love, Light, Forgiveness and walk uprightly full of worship for the One Who is Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

Allow Him to show you the thing that must die today, and every day.

Be a willing child - not wilful! Joyful and happy! You know the King! He loves you!

The Silence

12/23/2015 09:25

Friend, there is a place where the Lord God Almighty will commune with you!

Isaiah 51:4 Hearken unto Me, My people, and give ear unto Me.

Isaiah 46:3 Hear Me, all you whom I carry in My bosom.

Friend, He speaks in the silence.

When we choose to find a place where we can be silent before Him and let the cares of the world drift away and be focused on Him - His Diety, His Love, His Wisdom, His Truth - this is when we get the little snippets of Golden Truth for our lives.

When we have a longing to know Him and and we want and need Him in our lives, He cannot leave us.

He is drawn to us when our inner spirit is calling to Him. He will teach and guide us as much as we can stand when we show Him this kind of love and attention.

Friend, the Beauty of Who He Is, what He has done for us, the Truth that is undeniable, the Law that is Pure; it's all so glorious.

It's all found in the silence of one's life; the times when we are reclined in meditation.

Begin with silence in your outward life.

Have nothing to say!

Oh, how we struggle with that! But that part is the beginning of knowledge.

Hosea 2:14 I will lead her/him into solitude and there I will speak to her/his heart.

It is His Will. Practise silence. Become skilful in this practise.

He will show you the Way and give you Peace and fill you with Love for Him.

Stretch Your Faith

12/21/2015 09:38

Friend, let today be the day you stretch your faith even more.

Wherever you are in your walk with the Lord; begin to stretch your faith!

Test and see that the Lord, He is Good!

Believe that one thing that you have not been able to believe previously.

Don't let the world choke you.

Sit before the Lord, and tell Him that you do believe that one thing; ask for His help in believing.

Let the doubts and fears step aside, take a leap of faith. Say that little prayer and let it grow into strong prayer filled with affirmations of your new knowledge of Who He Is.

The Lord's heart is open towards you when you pray and believe in this way - boldly!

We limit Him in our lives when we are afraid to believe, or in fear that He will not be good to us - because we know we are a sinner and are undeserving.

He knows that. He sees that. But, friend, He loves you and wants you to make a move. Take that leap of faith and stretch your faith wings and fly with Him.

Ask Him for the big faith that will move mountains and be ready to guard it with all your heart and mind against the devil and his wily ways, and you will be glad you have placed your faith and trust in the One Who is above all things.

And meditate on the birth of Christ.  Why was it necessary? Why would God come to be with us in this way?

Ask God to help you with your understanding of this Plan of the Father.

In this way also, you will stretch your faith.

Left Behind

12/16/2015 21:43

Friend, the Bible says Jesus is going to come to this world again as a Victorious King.

It further says that those who are alive and who believe in the Son of God ( Jesus) will be taken up (raptured) to meet Him in the spiritual realm.

Before this great event, those who have died as believers will be resurrected and also join Him.

Revelation 19:9 Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb.

Friend, make sure you are not left behind.

Choose now to learn of this Great King, Saviour of the world, Judge over all, Knower of all hearts, who left His Throne and Power to take up the form of a babe born in a lowly animal's pen, placed in a manger, to grow into a man, and make known the Kingdom of God to us.
