Humility

Humility

Thomas A Kempis wrote...Humble self-knowledge is a surer way to God than searching the depths of learning.

Micah 6:8 from the Holy Bible... He hath showed thee: O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.

Proverbs 15:33  The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.

Proverbs 22:4  By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches; and honour and life.

For all of God's Holy Lawful Purposes it pays to have a humble mind and attitude.

Much can be learnt and revealed when we have this attitude.

God is repelled by pride, because there is none more knowing of all things than the Lord God Almighty.

He can only look at us with sorrow, because He knows we will be judging Him - when He is the Judge of all.

By Him our actions are weighed - therefore cultivate an attitude of humility.

The world tells us to be prideful; to boast of our abilities, knowledge, looks etc., and we see so much of this in our daily life.  It encourages us to lord it over our friends and family, co-workers, neighbours, those we come into contact with daily, and promises us that we will " get ahead " if we do so.

So, we must choose the world's way or the Lord's way.

Have you been winning whilst doing it the world's way; or have you caused strife for yourself?

Many do win by playing by the world's rules - masters of their own destiny.

But God's Word warns us where it leads when our life on this earth is ended.

If you have won by doing it the world's way - are you genuinely happy and do you have inner peace?

What if all is taken from you as often happens in the world?

We need insurance for the afterlife, and we can have it, but the cost is humility, repentance and accepting the Gift of God.

Change

07/12/2014 11:06

We all want others to change so that things can be better for us.

But the Truth is that we cannot change others.  Sometimes we can manage to change them for a short time but eventually they revert back to the old way and we are disappointed once again.

The Bible tells us that it is the Spirit of God ( Holy Spirit ) who is the One who brings about change in a person's life.

And the Spirit is not made manifest in our life until we accept the Gift of God, which is Salvation from our Lord, Jesus.

There is a spiritual change in our thinking that comes when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour Redeemer.

We begin to see our own need for change.  If we are genuinely thankful for Salvation, we begin to have a thankful heart and are grateful for our new state of being.

Forgiven! We're Forgiven; not just forgiven by mankind, but Holy Forgiveness has been given. Complete and all encompassing of every sin both known to us and unknown; past, present and future.

We see in the spiritual realm, more and more, the need for more kindness and gentleness towards others, is revealed.

We see the path we were on and know that it was not pleasing to God and we see the path our friends and family are on and know the same applies to them.

But it is not we who can change them.  We can tell them how much God loves them by sharing our testimony, but it will be our actions and the changes they see in us, that shows them our new faith in God Almighty, is real.

So in the end we can only change ourselves, and we have to walk in Christ with hope that our loved ones will also receive His Gift.

Romans 6:16    Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin - resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness ( before God)?

Beloved

07/06/2014 13:47

Beloved, your word for you has come!

YOU ARE LOVED BY JESUS.

Don’t question this. Accept that He does.

YOU ARE LOVABLE.

From this moment believe you are.

YOUR SINS CAN BE FORGIVEN.

There is only One who can forgive sin. The One who knows all your sins.

YOUR SPIRIT CAN HAVE ETERNAL LIFE IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.

Does your spirit need, desire or want this?

Make this thought the focus of your whole life for the next 24 hours at least.

Blessings, may you think on this and come to the best answer for your eternal being.

Phillipians 4:8 (KJV) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Three Crosses

07/06/2014 13:45

Is there a meaning for the Three Crosses at Calvary?

Everything to do with Jesus's life has layers and layers of meaning and the significance of three crosses on the Hill of the Skull is filled with meaning for us even today.

The Book of Luke states that one of the men hanging on his own cross said to Jesus, "If thou be Christ, save Thyself and us."

The other man rebuked this man by saying they deserved their fate but Jesus did not, He was Innocent. Then he turned to Jesus and asked Him, "Lord remember me when You come into Your Kingdom?"

Then Jesus said to him, "Truly, I say unto you, you shall be with Me in Paradise today."

Why this man and not the other?

Because this man recognized that He is Lord, Holy Pure, Innocent, and knew his own sin would keep him from spending eternity in Paradise.

It takes recognition of Jesus as Lord for us to gain eternal spirit life.

We are an eternal spirit living in a flesh body.

Where will the other man who hung on his cross, go?

Jesus is preparing a place for those souls who believe in Him and God has another place prepared for those who do not, or will not recognize His Son as the King of all kings.

We are His creation. He will only allow those He has cleansed by His Blood shed at Calvary, into His Kingdom.

So the significance of the three crosses is that Jesus is the Way and the man who mocked Him represents one of the two types of souls on this earth.

One is a man who does not, and will not recognize that a King exists who created him and who will one day judge his brief earth existence.

And the other man is the one who represents those of us who do recognize Him as King, knowing we are big sinners only saved by His Grace and Mercy. We come to this knowledge when we remove the veil from our eyes and see Him as God's Son. This man spoke of Jesus's Kingdom thereby acknowledging to Jesus that he knew He was a King and was returning to His Kingdom!

For believing in Him, He grants us entrance to His Kingdom and calls us sons and daughters of the King.

What a great reward, to have eternal spirit life, having all our sins forgiven, being made new by the renewing of our minds when the Holy Spirit comes to live inside us.

Think about it. Your soul's eternal destiny hangs in the balance. Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart, but He will not enter unless you allow Him.
