Willingness or Wilfulness

Dear Friend,  Are you willing to find Love - or is your wilfulness going to impede your spiritual growth?

This is a question to ponder...

Is my spirit willing, or is my flesh wilful to do as it pleases, even though my spirit wills change for me?

Dear one, make an effort to discipline the flesh/mind so the spirit can have it's day in the sunshine too!

Do not deny the spirit who listens to the Holy Spirit of God and is God (Triune God,Son,Spirit).

The Holy Spirit is hovering over you to envelope you in Love, Peace & Truth, anytime you are willing to move forward.

Begin to identify the areas of your life that have your body or mind captured and rebuke them in the name of Jesus, from your life one by one- for there are always many.

Afraid of the Bible?

Many are!  However none of us should ever leave this life before having read through the Gospel of John.  It comes after Luke.  I have heard it recommended to read through John's gospel at least three times to fully understand what is written there.  One should take their time in doing this.  Put it down when there is something to mull over and alllow your mind to question.

Sometimes we're afraid that something will be required of us.  An act of obedience that we in our unbelief think we could not do, perhaps?

Friend, do not be afraid.  God is good.  He knows the way for you.  If He asks something of you, do you think it will not be for your good, for personal growth, for enlightenment? 

He knows what your next step should be.  He knows how to orchestrate what has been going on in your life and bring you to a place of joy. He knows you can only do baby steps, and He is there for you to lean on. 

Why continue doing what you have been doing and expecting a different result?  It will not happen.

Something has to change.  Read the fourth book in the New Testament as if a trusted friend is speaking to you, and be blessed by John's words.

My friend, have you found the secret place to live while in the world?

I have, take my hand and walk with me.

Let me introduce you to my Friend.  He is Jesus.  He is God the Son.

He loves me.  He listens to me.

In times of trouble He is my Fortress when evil is assaulting me. I go there and am safe, knowing He is working all things together for my good in Him.  Yes, it may not be what I want or think is the best, but He, seeing the big and full picture, knows the best route to take.  I just trust Him as I keep walking along covered by His Love.

In that Fortress of Love I find real security.  I am able to focus on Him and enjoy His presence and wisdom.  He shows me the freedom I have when I let Him deal with the evil that surrounds me. 

While in the Fortress, He has shown me that to worship Him and pray to Him unlocks the chains that bind me and allows Him to demolish the evil barriers in my life.  In this state I gain strength and enlightenment for my life's path.  I see the real choices I have and can identify evil more readily. 

Patience is also gained as I see that His timing is better than my understanding, but He gives hope and encouragement during the times of waiting.  My spirit is renewed as I worship Him as my Redeemer.

I hope the Fortress is where you run to in times of uncertainty or trouble, but if not I strongly encourage you to go there.  Reach out your hand and speak to Him.  A contrite heart will unlock the door.

Are you held back by the desire to understand the God of the Christian Bible, before you can commit to or acknowledge Jesus?

Many are, yet God sees that as pride based on personal intelligence, and as a block to spiritual growth.

Has He not shown by the created universe that He is All in All?

The oceans and sea are just one of the things we should contemplate. A blade of grass springing forth from the tiny seed is another.  There is so much to consider, yet we insist on understanding every little thing about the world and universe as if these discoveries will give us some other meaning than - God is All in All.

This searching keeps us from knowing Him.  It is not wise to make your life a continual search.  One day your soul will be required at the Judgement.

Have faith that God will give to you understanding when you acknowledge Him. 

That is the true journey - God revealing Himself to you as you walk together down the Righteous path.

Of Jesus it is said in the scriptures...

He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, and the world knew Him not.

He came unto His own, and His own knew Him not. But, as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.  John 1:10-13 kjv

How many of us truly understand that we can be a son of God? 

This scripture clearly tells us who is considered a son of God and how they came to be one.

Most of us would want to be part of the richest Kingdom, considered a son or daughter. 

More than a friend!

If I am a son or daughter, then are you not as a believer, a son or daughter also? 

We are then brothers and sisters of the one Father.

Rejoice in the knowledge you are His and He is a Good God...

Beloved!

Are you His Beloved?

Have you heard His voice?  

It is soft, it is gentle and kind.  

It is direct and full of Truth.

Steady your thoughts on Him – speak to Him even.  

Your spirit was created to have communion with Him and He is ready and willing now to hear from you.

Be still and know that He has the pathway for your life mapped out.  

He will walk it with you. Nothing will be too big for Him to overcome.

He will use every circumstance from your past life to bring you to the place of Light and Peace and Love.

Know it is a process and should not be governed by your feelings, but trust in Him and His ability.

He knows where you were headed and how to stop the locusts from destroying your soul. 

Just participate!  

Enjoy the journey.  

His yoke is light, not heavy like that of darkness.

You are His Beloved!

There was a time decades ago when I fell away from Christian living.  Many factors were the cause of this but the root cause was I wanted to fit in with others who were not at that time Christian.

It was the 1960's and the Beatles and Rolling Stones were spouting their new way of thinking.  It appealed to my new wonder about the world.  Soon I was drawn to Bob Dylan and the lyrics to his music, especially the ones referring to his born again experience, and my faith was revived briefly.  Thank you Bob! This Jesus music kept me on track during those early years of spiritual growth. 

Someone (Dylan) from the new generation of mainstream was warning me to stay within the umbrella of God's Love and not venture out into the realm of free love and experimentation with all kinds of, to many at that time, new and exciting thinking.

Actually it was all just rehashed esoteric beliefs and religions made to look new and profound by the workers of evil who did not even know they were being used for that purpose.

But, I did go down some of those paths to investigate.  Always, I kept one foot outside that particular door as I read up on the new age thinking.  I became quite good at discerning the ungodly thinking and where it emanated from. Evil - in a new disguise.

Sadly, many from those days are not with us because they took things too far and were caught in the web.

God's Word tells us there is one Way, not many.

Years would go by before I fully committed and was born again and even though I know that those years of  playing around with the new age lifestyle were wrong, I am glad the Lord was with me through them to enlighten my mind when I questioned what seemed to be fair and right but in fact was not in line with God's thinking.

His ways are higher than mine and I finally admitted it.

How good is God, that even though we are involved in some religion or thought pattern that has nothing to do with His Way, He will, when we stop and turn to Him reveal Himself to us in a Way that we understand.  He will gently draw us to Him at the pace He knows is for each of us.

There is never a need to end it all or say I don't have a chance to be a child of God, or I'm caught in this and can't get out.  He will make a Way, if you will pay attention and discipline the flesh.

Jesus said in Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation; the spirit is indeed willing, but the flesh is weak.

Maybe it is minute to minute you have to discipline your mind, but do it.  Accept Jesus as Saviour and He will help you to overcome. Your reward will be great in heaven.
