The Faithfullness of God - Psalm 36:5

04/16/2015 10:02

Psalm 36:5-11 A prayer excerpted from the words used by King David that we can use  - it is acceptable to God when spoken with human feeling and emotion; love for  God.

Your steadast Love, O Lord, is as great as all the heavens.

Your Faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.

Your Justice is as solid as God's mountains.

Your Decisions are as full of Wisdom as the oceans are with water.

You are concerned for men and animals alike.

How precious is Your Constant Love, O God.

All humanity takes refuge in the shadow of Your wings.

You feed us with blessings from Your own table and let us drink from Your rivers of Delight.

For You are the Fountain of Life; our light is from Your Light.

Pour out Your Unfailing Love on those who know You!

Never stop giving Your Salvation to those who long to do Your Will.

Don't let those proud men trample me.

Don't let their wicked hands push me around.

Amen.

Jesus Speaks To His Disciples

04/13/2015 10:40

Jesus began a tour of the cities and villages of Galilee to announce the coming of the Kingdom of God, and took His twelve disciples with Him. Some women went along, from whom He had cast out demons or whom He had healed; among them were Mary Magdalene ( Jesus had cast out seven demons from her), Joanna, Chuza's wife (Chuza was king Herod's business manager and was in charge of his palace and domestic affairs), Susanna, and many others who were contributing from their private means to the support of Jesus and His disciples.

One day He gave this illustration to a large crowd that was gathering to hear Him - while many others were still on the way, coming from other towns.

"A farmer went out to his field to sow grain.  As he scattered the seed on the ground, some of it fell on a footpath and was trampled on; and the birds came and ate it as it lay exposed.

Other seed fell on shallow soil with rocks beneath. This seed began to grow, but soon withered and died for lack of moisture.

Other seed landed in thistle patches, and the young grain stalks were soon choked out.

Still other fell on fertile soil; this seed grew and produced a crop one hundred times as large as he had planted."

(As He was giving this illustration He said, "If anyone has listening ears, use them now!")

His apostles asked Him what the story meant.

He replied, " God has granted you to know the meaning of these parables, for they tell a great deal about the Kingdom of God.  But these crowds hear the words and do not understand, just as the ancient prophets have predicted.

THIS IS THE MEANING:

The seed is God's message to men.

The hard path where some seed fell represents the hard hearts of those who hear the words of God, but then the devil comes and steals the words away and prevents people from believeing and being saved.

The stony ground represents those who enjoy listening to sermons, but somehow the message never really gets through to them and doesn't take root and grow. They know the message is true, and sort of believe for a while,; but when the hot winds of persecution blow, they lose interest.

The seed among the thorns represents those who listen and believe God's words but whose faith afterwards is choked out by worry and riches and the responsibilities and pleasures of life.  And so they are never able to help anyone else to believe the Good News.

BUT, the good soil represents honest, good-hearted people.  They listen to God's Words and cling to them and steadily spread them to others who also soon believe."

Luke Chapter 8 paraphrased. The Living Bible.

The Hour Is Late

04/13/2015 10:09

Friend, I hope you are a believer in the Son of God, Jesus.

If not, the hour is late and to not choose to believe in Almighty God's will for your life is to deny Him, and consequently, you have made a choice according to His Law, for darkness.

Today, you can choose something different for your life.  You can turn around and face God and see the Glory and Majesty of a Good and Wise, all Powerful, all Knowing, all Seeing God.

In 1st Kings 18:21b in the Old Testament it says...How long will you go limping with two different opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him.

For unbelievers, the Lord says every day, "Choose today whom you will serve." When you open your eyes in the morning - these are His words to you.  And we go about our day with them enveloping our being.

This is why we feel guilt when in sin.  It is the Lord saying, "Choose the better way, do not destroy your soul.  I love you and have a plan for your life.  I am your God, accept my Love. Do not fear, I am with you, just recognize me and allow me to guide you. Speak your pain to me and I will give you peace and rest. I accomplished  something great for you on the Cross.  I can cover you with the Blood of my Sacrifice and Resurrection so you to may have a resurrected life both on earth and in Heaven."

The hour is late, my friend. Choose wisely and choose soon.

Keep A Quiet Spirit

04/13/2015 08:29

Friend, the Lord asks us to keep a quiet spirit throughout the day to allow Him to guide and direct our path.

Decide today to be calm and unhurried. Even though we must for our work's sake, have urgency to accomplish the daily goals of the company or business we are employed by, we can still have an unhurried spirit.  Our mind can work at breakneck speed and our limbs can still get the job done, but the spirit within can be unhurried - listening for the Lord's still small voice of guidance and support. His Spirit to our spirit.

Our words can be a source of encouragement or a source of fear and anger or create revengeful thoughts by others.  Seek to always be an encourager with your words.  Calm those anxious souls, unruffle the feathers of the anger and unhappiness with your gentle and lovely spirit.  Do not be forceful - just walk away and brush the dust from your soles.  Some will not receive.

He is the constant Father who loves and is full of kindness - available to us at every hour of the day.  He is Wisdom itself and owns the Law of the Universes - will He not have the answer you need?

There is no need to be anxious or fearful.

Just keep a quiet spirit within and protect it with prayer knowing that Father God is keeping you in His care.

It's a Fact

04/12/2015 13:48

Friend, it is a fact; the Lord Jesus Christ, Almighty God, loves you and wants you to be a citizen of Heaven.

He does not care how you look.  It is your heart He is after.

He knows that when you get to know Him - your heart knowing His heart; you will also love Him.

He cares about the sin in your life.  He wants you to recognize it and turn from it; to Him who can forgive everything.

A repentant heart can receive full forgiveness of the past sins.

He knows that you will have a desire not to sin but you may fall backwards and repeat a sin but when you turn to him immediately, you will receive forgiveness and gently be coaxed not to repeat ingrained sin in your life.

He will give you the ability to rebuff sin and overcome it if you are willing.

Forgiveness can be yours.  I receive it daily - because He loves me and I love Him.

And He loves you - I do not have to see you to confirm this fact.  He loves you without a doubt - even in your sin.

How He Loves Us

04/11/2015 12:08

Friend, are you lonesome, feeling unloved, depressed about your life?

I can say without any  doubt, "God loves you!"  He does!

Open your heart and mind to receive the love He has for you and your loved ones.

Be the catalyst for change and a new life in the company of believers who through Christ in them, will love you also.

So, you have a big family of people who love you just waiting to join with your spirit to worship and praise the One who loves us all.

Friend, He has chosen you today to tell you He loves you.  He asks you to be open to what He has in store for you.

He wants to teach and guide you just as He did the Disciples.  He walked  amongst the lowly people and found the true hearts who were wanting to know God.  He gathered them together as a little band of followers and taught them about His Father and how to pray and heal the sick and how to baptize and teach and grow more followers who were seeking Truth and God.

Is this you?  Are you seeking God?  Are you ready to grow in belief?  Will you be a follower and not a leader of His teachings?  Can you be a conduit that God can use?

He has much to do in this world and He has brought you to this place to find Him and to begin to know Him in a way that you never knew existed.

He chooses the humble, those not seeking fame or fortune, to be a blessing to the hurting and lost.  And He chooses the ones who are hungry for His Word, also, because they will be diligent and learn from the Word and be able to guide others to His Word; where they will see for themselves that He loves them, and has made a Way for them to be reunited with Him in Paradise.

New Every Morning

04/11/2015 08:48

Friend, God's Mercy is new every morning for us.

Yesterday is gone.  Ask for forgiveness of the sins of yesterday and walk in His Mercy and Grace daily.

Everything He does from the standpoint of Heaven is Merciful.  He works within His Law and to us sometimes we do not see how our circumstances are filled with Mercy, but they are!

When we have a strong faith and know much of His Word, we see His Mercy at work and we become thankful souls.

If you are weak and needy, set about to grow in faith and get that strength that you know you need.

Learn about all the Promises of God. Find out about His Law.  Seek to understand His Love.  Find out about Mercy, Grace, Provision, Healing.

Be grateful for the new Mercy that is yours every morning and thank Him for His kindness towards you and those you love.

And grow in the knowledge of Him who loves you.
